Eminent Personalities (I)

INTRODUCTION

On 20 July 2013, the Post Office of Moldova (Poșta Moldovei) issued a series of postage stamps with the title Eminent Personalities (I). The issue comprises two stamps, with associated cancellation (postmark) and first day cover (FDC). The designer was Elena Karacenţev. The printing was performed by Nova Imprim, Chişinău.

Adrian Păunescu (20 July 1943 – 5 November 2010) was a Romanian poet, journalist, and politician. Anton Crihan (July 10, 1893, Sîngerei- January 9, 1993, St. Louis, Mo) was a Bessarabian politician. Anton Crihan served as Member of the Moldovan Parliament (1917-1918), Parliament of Romania, and Government of Romania. After the Soviet takeover, Crihan fled on foot to Yugoslavia and arrived in the United States in 1949. Read more..
